Lovegrass is a warm season, perennial bunchgrass. It grows to a height of 2-4 feet and has 1/4″ leaves of 10 to 20 inches in length. Used for pasture (early spring / fall), hay, erosion control and for steep bank areas.
One of the earliest grasses to grow in the spring and the last to turn brown in the fall. Can be used for cover and for soil stabilization in gullies and erosion areas. The dense bunches of these grasses also provide cover for small animals and is also used widely as an ornamental.
Best Uses:
They can be used as livestock fodder, the seeds appear to be of extremely high nutritional value at least in some species.
